The Last Supper (4 of 9)

$600.00

Last Supper is a photographic series exploring the impact of climate change on animal life, the emotional and ecological toll of habitat loss, food scarcity, and species decline. Each image in this series captures animals in moments of tension, solitude, or competition, visual metaphors for the existential threats many species face due to rising temperatures, deforestation, and biodiversity collapse.

The featured photographs — a solitary primate cloaked in shadow, a swirl of disoriented turtles, birds scrambling over seeds, and lions pacing a barren enclosure — evoke the fragility of life on a planet stretched thin. These images were taken at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the National Zoo in DC, intentionally framed to express isolation and diminishing abundance. They reflect not only the animals’ conditions but humanity’s role in accelerating environmental degradation.
