Monks Walk for Peace
I recently uploaded a new set of photographs from the Monks Walk for Peace. The walk traces its roots to global peace movements and watching them move together through the crowed reminded me of recurring themes that often appear in my photography and writing: endurance, ritual, and the subtle ways people express hope and purpose through repeated, deliberate action. Like many of the cultural and civic moments I’ve documented, the walk exists somewhere between tradition and presence. It is ancient in meaning and immediate in experience.
The procession also echoes ideas I’ve explored in other posts about persistence, symbolic movement, and collective expression. The walk is not loud or confrontational. Instead, it moves steadily, allowing reflection to unfold through motion itself.
